Amber & Jared - Engagement

It was great to finally meet Amber, and her fiance, Jared, for the first time last Friday. After texting and emailing each other the past few months, we met in Cookeville for their engagement session. We started at the depot and moved to Cane Creek park to finish the session.

Other than calling Jared the wrong name many, many times, everything turned out beautiful. These two made my job so easy! They are both smart & gorgeous, and they will make a great married couple. The wedding is only a few days away, and I can't wait to get some beautiful photos of the newlyweds! :)

Natsha & Michael - Engagement & Wedding

I just love this couple! Natasha and Micheal seem to be a perfect match... she is sweet, pretty, and patient, while Michael is funny, handsome, and a little crazy - in a good way! At the time of the Engagement session, Michael had only been home for a couple of weeks after serving a tour of duty in Afganistan. I can tell that these two really love each other, and they will never have a dull moment! Congratulations :)

Carson - Six Months

Carson's session was at the beautiful Cane Creek Park in Cookeville on a beautiful, sunny day. I couldn't help but take a pic of him sleeping in his car seat before the session. Just like the last time, he was bright-eyed and showed so much personality!

Stephanie & Norman's Wedding

This was the first wedding where I had not met the bride nor the groom before the wedding. Stephanie's sister, Krystal, hired me to take pictures as a wedding present to the couple, so I really had no idea what to expect from the experience. Fortunately, I met many friendly & kind people and we had a great time. The kids were hilarious! I love all kinds of weddings, but small, intimate weddings are a very special occasion indeed. Congrats to Stephanie & Norman!

It was at this point the sun decided to pop out and get in everyone's eyes! I couldn't believe it since it had been storming for most of the day. At 3pm when I left school in Monterey, I couldn't see 20 ft in front of me due to dense fog. We were all very lucky that the weather cooperated for a few hours!

The Character of Cumberland University

I've visited Lebanon several times, but I have never been to Cumberland University. It is a small campus with a LOT of character. Gloria wanted me to feature the "CU" in front of Memorial Hall, which you can see in the first image, and if you look closely, there is a bride and groom in the background! We kept running into another professional photographer covering an on campus wedding. :) Needless to say, it was a great day for spring pictures!

LOVE... love... love weddings. Although being a wedding photographer can be high-stress, fast-paced, and exhausting, weddings are still AMAZING! Here are some of my favorite images from the past two years.

My favorite part is the relationship that I build with my clients. On their wedding day, I not only get to document their wedding, but I get to see my FRIENDS get married!

Zoey was the perfect little model for her six month session. This was probably the easiest session with a baby since I started two years ago! She is such a beautiful and HAPPY baby. Babies are so much fun to photograph!

It was a joy to take pictures of the Monterey High School production of "South Pacific". Taylor is amazing as the leading lady, and the supporting characters are hilarious. Good job everyone! The performances officially start on March 24th. Contact Monterey High @ 839-2970 for more info.

Carter Family

God graced us with another beautiful fall day, and so we had yet another gorgeous setting for a family portrait. Although the wind was blowing from time to time, I couldn't complain, since it was quite comfortable outside for a late October day.

It was my first time to meet the Carter family, and they were awesome... Obra (awesome name) & Jessica took turns dragging my camera bag around with us! I think we got some beautiful images, and I am really glad to have worked with this kind, not to mention, photogenic family.

Brandon & Lindsey

I always jump at the opportunity to work in my hometown of Centertown, TN, a tiny little town in Warren County. When Lindsey contacted me about her wedding, I was so excited when she told me that she was from Centertown, and then... wait for it... getting married at Centertown United Methodist Church, the church I grew up in!

It didn't take long to realize that Brandon & Lindsey were quite the couple. We had such a great time taking engagement pics at Lindsey's grandparent's farm. They were so natural, happy, and comfortable with the camera, which made my job easy. Brandon was a champ for laughing every time I called him Robert... oops!

Lindsey's bridal shoot turned out some gorgeous beauty shots and dramatic bluff portraits, some of my very favorite photos. I wanted to share those photos on Facebook, but the moment I uploaded them, I had to delete them so Brandon wouldn't see them! Since the wedding is in the past, I have included a few shots below.

All in all, I met so many wonderful people, and I hope that we remain friends for a long time. I really become emotionally invested in all of my clients, and I really LOVE to meet new people and forge lasting relationships. I could tell that these two really love each other and their friends and family. Bless you Brandon & Lindsey!

A Walk in Downtown Monterey

Let me say that I am VERY thankful to those that assist me in my photo sessions. I would not be the photographer I am without Ivania, Donald, Scott, & Ashley! On that note, Ashley is my regular assistant, and it was GREAT to be back with her yesterday afternoon. She is studying to become a LPN, and she is gracious enough to still find time in her hectic schedule to help. :)

We were incredibly lucky with the weather, yet again, with Dakota's downtown Monterey session. I knew that he wasn't much of a "nature" person, so we explored some of the more gritty parts of the city, which I LOVE. The city of Monterey has so much history and character, so it was easy finding great locations for the shoot, especially the Imperial Hotel! Enjoy.

After taking about a thousand pictures yesterday at Brandon & Lindsey's fabulous wedding, I still couldn't resist taking a few more pics today of my daughter dancing around my parent's backyard. She was still dressed in her new favorite dress from church earlier this morning, so while it may look like another staged photo shoot, it wasn't... lol. Abby was running from one tree to the next, swinging on her swing or the tree, picking acorns, chasing Duke with a stick, and playing "red light, green light." While it may not be a professional shoot, I love the results nonetheless! Enjoy :)
